We had fantastic weather and a good
turn out at the 2nd Annual Canada / USA B-Body drags which were held
at St Thomas Dragway in Sparta Ontario !!!!
June 24th, 2006
the gates opened at 10am and we had a dozen B-Body enthusiast
chomping at the bit to have some fun.
Not only did Clarence
make it to the final round, he made sure his DGGM looked good
getting there !!
While swapping on the
slicks Stu kept his best angle ready for the pictures.
John Fraser made it to
the drag day, but we couldn't convince him to make a few passes in
the new Pacifica !!

Time trials began at 11am and we
piled into the lanes.
|

|
Everyone had a good chance to get
the bugs worked out and test and tune their cars. We shared
our drag day with the Z-car club and a few others who were
just running the test and tune.
Dave MacDonald's 13.67 @ 101mph
was a personal best as well as the fastest run of the day in
his 1966 Impala.
We all figured out our index and
got ready for the elimination rounds which started at 2pm.
In round one, driving his white
1996 9C1, John Connery ran a 14.700 on a 14.7 dial in. Can't
get much closer then that !!
Stu MacDonald driving his 6 Speed
graciously handed Brad Johnston the win with a .493 reaction.

Clarence and Brad both made it to the Winners Circle. How's
that for a Canada / USA finish !!

only 5 hundreds of a second Brad managed to get the win light
!!

After a good Dinner at Montana's
Steak house in London it was time for everyone to hit the
highway and head for home.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next year !!!! |
